Diver Teddy 2025


Hey y'all!

I'm here today with a small update to Diver Teddy, my actual first game project that ever saw the light of day. In today's update I simply wanted to show some love to this project, not change or reinvent it in any meaningful way, but just add a little more quality of life and polish.  

The changes include the addition of a fullscreen function and a quit button in the main menu, updates to the text drawing so it now displays on the GUI layer properly and an update to the old artstyle, which was a little all over the place. I gave it a unified fresh identity without changing the core of what it was and at this point I am very happy with it.


Revisiting my old code and laughing at my past mistakes was a ton of fun. I even found a completely unmitigated crash that I was not aware of (but that would only ever happen every 1 out of... 50? games lol). 

If you decide to check the game out I hope you have a ton of fun with my first passion project and maybe you can even break my highscore ;)

PATCH NOTES 1.3

CHANGES
- added fullscreen support
- added fullscreen menu button
- added quit button
- changed all text in game to display on the GUI layer for higher resolution
- reworked artstyle to remove (inconsistent) outlines and focus on an outline-free presentation through increasing the contrast between foreground and background
- slightly modified threat level of some enemies (nerfed chompfish speed, slightly buffed snake speed, buffed net diver reaction time)

FIXES
- clicking through the logo splash does no longer allow immediate interaction on the next page with the same click
- removed a coding oversight that would, extremely rarely, cause the game to hard crash when trying to spawn a teddy life after a specific obstacle
